For your safety: Be safe traveling on the roads and while anywhere near the
Kern River! Bring proper weather coats for upper elevations,
usually 10-18 degrees cooler than lake level. Emergency vehicle equipment,
chains, blankets, water, etc. for remote upper areas always recommended. Do not
use charcoal or propane space heaters in confined areas. Always let someone
